Skudpuppetz formed as a three piece band but as of Friday 28th of October 2005, our newest member Stuart joined making us a Four piece band. We are a four piece band with drums, rhythm guitar, lead guitar, and bass. On Guitar we have John, Lead guitar - Stuart, Bass - Chris, and Drums me, but im not telling you my name.
We have been together for bout 1 year and 4 months, but practically all the bands progression has been over the first 6 - 8 months or something like that. Im shit with times and dates and all that crap. Before that there were a few things that made rehearsing together a bit hard. For instance, i invaded Canada for a month to find my long lost brother: Charles Bronsan.
You can now purchase a copy of our album,(actually they're free so just take one), and while your at it you could purchase your very own comfortable SkudpuppetZ t-shirt. Just to let you know we care, because all money we get from our sales goes not to charity, and does not, not, enter our own pockets. We do not use it to spend where and when we want, because in actual fact, we don't make any money. So really all i'm doing is talking shite. Alright Folks, John here. I never know what to say on these things cos I always think I’m gonna sound like a dick. So here goes…
I play guitar and try to sing in SkudpuppetZ. Chris and me share the singing duties. I’ve been playing guitar for about 5 years now. I picked it up at school after playing Bass for 2 years before that. I had to teach myself both because
My Favourite bands are Green Day, The Offspring, NoFX, Alkaline Trio and Less Than Jake, but I’ll listen to most things. I also like stuff like Eminem, System Of A Down and Stevie Wonder (what a guy). I started getting into punk music after The Offspring released
My Biggest influences are Billie Joe from Green Day and Matt Skiba from the Alkaline Trio. I think they are both great songwriters and excellent front men. How lame do I sound??? But really, I love the music that they write, and obviously that has a big effect on how I write songs. I don’t rip them off though, not my style.
I play an Ibanez Ergodyne that was bought for my Birthday by Alia (and yes, we are engaged). Before I got that I had an Ibanez GSA, which was also a birthday present come to think of it… I use an AKG WMS40 wireless system as well. That I had to save up for. No 1 would get me that as a present. I’m in the process of trying to save money (big emphasis on “trying”) to get me a new amp. The 1 I got just now just ain’t loud enough. It’s a 65-Watt Behringer with Built in Effects (never use them though, just clean and distortion will do me). The Machine
I am the Machine. I play drums in Skudpuppetz with one arm. I used to love drumming, but now that i only have one arm its really shite, i cant do anything...i sound like the def leopard drummer.....shite. I have been drumming it since my 12th birthday. (btw rite now, im listening to some really crazy key board solo, its mental) When i was in high school, i would rush home to get on my drums. I would usualy drum till i was told to get of by my mum. That was usually between about 5pm and 8pm. At weekends and on public holidays i would drum for about 5 hours a day, unless on that public holiday, my person was not where my drum kit was.
My biggest influences are Mike Portnoy and Joey Jordison, The Increadible CHUTNEY, but most of all, the person who influences me most is my dad. Twas he who purchased my first drum kit, and twas also he who tought me drums for the first year or so. If he knew i was gona go down the same route as the Def Leapord drummer, he wouldnt have bothered his arse. He was a really good drummer in his time, and he was the drummer for "The Strides", quite a well known band in its time, he managed to keep both his arms intact. Ted Mckenna, drummer for Sensational alex Harvey Band gave me a few lessons too, he also has two arms.
My Favourite bands are Slayer, Dream Theater, Yes, U.F.O, Slipknot, Pantera, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac. The drummers for all those bands have two arms too. I usualy fall asleep listening to Muic because i love it. As far as my favourite music goes, i will listen to just about any genre of music and enjoy it, but i prefer music that revolves around Rock and Metal, and i like music where the drummers have more than one arm.
My drum set-up is very similar to the queensryche drummer's set-up, that drummer has two arms. Exept i dont have the highest tom. I have a 6 peice set up. 12",13" and 16" toms and 22" bass drum.All session pro exept from the snare drum which is a 14" Mapex M sereis with a Remo coated white head, and my Timbale which has the Terri Bozio snare head that came with the Mapex Snare. All toms have Remo power stroke 4 heads exept from the bass, which hass a Power Stroke 3 head on it, the ressinant side is just the standard Session pro skin i got with it. It all sounds really good. I use mostly Pearl hardware, with the exeption of two boom stands which are Premier. I also use a Pearl Eliminator Double bass pedal which im actualy looking to replace with another double bass pedal because its not holding up too well.
My Cymbals
15" Sabian AAX Darck crash, 15" Sabian AAX chinese type, 17" Sabian AAX crash, 18" Zildjian A custom projection crash, 20" Zildjian K ride, 17" Sabian AAX Explosion Chinese, 14" Sabian Pro Hi Hats, 6" 8" and 10" Sabian AAX Splashes, and finaly a 6" tambourine thing that sits atop my hihat pole.
My Armagedon/Termination date will be Sunday, May 5, 2075. From when i wrote this (2:14am, Sunday Morning, 17th April, 2005) i have 2,210,467,990 seconds to live. which = 36 841 133.2 minutes. Which = 614 018.887 hours. Which = 25584.1203 days. Which = 70.04700 years. Which means i will die when i am 82 years old. Lets hope in that time i can make something of myself.

Stuart Stuart Rite fuckers, I am stuart, I play guitar and occasionally shout some shit in skudpuppetz. I am the newest member of the band and also have the largest penis…honest. I’ve been playing the guitar since I was 11, I think. I have always had a huge interest in music and become more interested as time goes on. The bands that influence me nowadays in both the performance and songwriting side of things are bands like rancid, the clash, ramones, operation ivy, green day, crimpshrine, fifteen, nofx, pinhead gunpowder, common rider, flogging molly, dropkick murphys, stiff little fingers, motorhead and so on, though I’ve also been influenced by bands like metallica, iron maiden, the doors, sepultura, rob zombie, white zombie, machine head, pantera, pearl jam, soulfly, led zepplin, the who and others, ahh back in my metal days…though I mostly listen to punk music these days I still like the odd bit of metal and classic rock I have to admit. So really I’m a retired metalhead who is know more into punk, ska and reggae because reggae sounds so good when you’re drunk and ska is so fucking happy, it makes you smile and dance badly, and punk, well it’s punk, what is there about it that isn’t great, so anyways ye, punk, ska and reggae are good and metal is alright aswell, skudpuppetz are the shit and will fart in your faces!
Two other people who i think should get a mention are Colette, and Alia. Colette is Chris's Girlfriend and Alia is John's Fiancé if thats how u spell it. Im sure there engaged, i cant really remember. Well they have both been with skudpuppetz since the beginning.....
